We encourage volunteers to draw on their experiences, talents, and passions to find the volunteer opportunity in their community that best helps them to enrich their own life through service to others. If you don't know where to start, the Corporation for National and Community Service has a strategic focus on leveraging volunteers to make a difference in the six focus areas identified in the Serve America Act: Education, Economic Opportunity, Environmental Stewardship, Veterans and Military Families, Healthy Futures, and Disaster Services.
To show our support for the volunteers working in these strategic areas, we give Certifying Organizations the option to customize an Award certificate by printing the Key Focus Area under a volunteer's name on their personalized certificate if that volunteer's service is within one of the categories below.
Encourage and support our nation’s youth to achieve success in the classroom, increase high school graduation rates and improve overall literacy and academic standards.
Provide services to create economic opportunity for community members struggling financially, including housing assistance, job training and financial literacy.
Support energy efficiency and environmental conservation and restoration services within our communities.
Veterans and Military Families
Show your support to those who make the ultimate sacrifice by providing services to veterans, active duty members and their families.
Brighten futures by providing access to health care, disease prevention, health promotion initiatives and health literacy.
Strengthen the capacity of individuals, organizations and communities to help prepare for, respond to and recover from disaster situations and increase community resilience.
